CORAB AND ITS OBJECTIVES

Cooperative of organic producers since 1998, Corab collects its products within a radius of 200km around St Jean d'Angely (17) based on the principle of long rotation. The different crops follow one another over the years on each plot to maximize the beneficial effects for the land and to perpetuate the farms.

Corab's commitments: announce purchase prices one year in advance to members of the cooperative so that they can plan their rotation on the farm taking into account the economic data. But also buy the entire harvest from producers and sign contracts with them for each grain grown! The prices are voted by the Board, without negotiation with the members at the collection.

The advantages of Corab:

- A fair trade label for the 190 100% organic producers in Poitou-Charentes;

- An objective of remuneration of 1200 € / hectare (around 2 minimum wage for a good harvest);

- Climate risk management by the cooperative and the farmers;

- Advice on the choice of rotations and varieties and techniques to ensure production in quantity and quality.
